Taking Devops Full Circle With Packer AMI images For AWS

October 21, 2021

devops

Having spent the last year improving my skill base in the Devops arena, I feel like I have gone full circle with Packer. Packer is a tool from Hashicorp that creates server images which you can host on the cloud.

I have learnt to configure the cloud with terraform, then setup the tech stack with Ansible.

I have also learnt to Dockerise the entire system as a container

But creating Packer images seems like the most efficient method to build servers with all the tools above, which is then deployed as an image. I can still use Ansible to config it, with terraform to launch it.
